The workshop will take place on July 31, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the GenoHotel Karlsruhe. Please note, the workshop will be conducted in German.


"Integration with New Techniques in TYPO3 V13"

Wolfgang Wagner has known and loved TYPO3 since about 2006. During this time, he has produced hundreds of video tutorials around TYPO3, held numerous workshops and seminars, and created extensive video courses. He is also actively involved in the TYPO3 community, e.g., as the main organizer of the TYPO3 Usergroup Bodensee or as a sponsor at TYPO3camps. All info at https://wwagner.net/

Target group:
The workshop is aimed at (prospective) TYPO3 integrators.

Topic & Goal:
The topic of the workshop is the integration of a website in TYPO3 using your own site
package.The sub-topics TypoScript, TSconfig and Templating are covered in depth.

  • Create your own site package (Composer)
  • Integration of an HTML template
  • TypoScript Objects (CONFIG, PAGE, PAGEVIEW, etc.)
  • Data Processors
  • Content Blocks
  • (if time permits: customization of the backend via TSconfig)

We will focus on the new techniques and methods of TYPO3 v13.

The aim is to give participants a basic understanding of these topics. This should serve as a
basis for further steps.

Prerequisites:
Participants should bring the following prerequisites:

  • own Laptop
  • Software for editing files (PhpStorm, Visual Studio Code or similar)
  • Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS
  • Basic knowledge of working in a terminal/console and
  • Basic knowledge of working on a web server (Bash)

Participants should already have the current Sprint release of TYPO3 13 installed, either
locally on their own computer or on a web server. Software for editing the files should be
installed and configured (see above).
If required, Wolfgang can also provide installation instructions.

"Writing automated tests for your TYPO3 extensions"

Oliver Klee is a freelance TYPO3 developer and workshop teacher since 1999, specializing in test-driven development with PHPUnit since 2010. He wrote the first unit tests for the TYPO3 core, earning him the nickname "the unit testing guy" at TYPO3 events. Active in the Best Practices Team, Community Engagement Team, and a leadership initiative, he has also contributed to the TCCD task force, trainer network, Ombudsperson team, and security team.   • A local IDE like PhpStorm
  • Docker or Podman on Linux, Mac, or WSL2
  • Good spoken German
